On Baha'i Bloggers: Views and News

While traveling to from Beunos Aires to Brazil, Leah of Life It Happens doesn't let beaurocracy get her down. The Baha'i Faith explains that all that's going on in the world today is part of some Divine plan, and as many catastrophes we see happening around us/to us (caused by nature or mankind), there are stronger spiritual forces at work. So we just gotta try to remember that and see the wisdom behind things instead of getting frustrated... which is something I'm obviously still working on.

Sahar, "Part Cameroonian, Part Iranian, Part Pakistani, Part Crazy, Part Dreamer," and blogger of Love from Fullerton to Buea & Everythings in the Middle provides us with pictures of the Cameroon National Assembly members along with Auxilliary Board Members and Counsellor Tiati and Dr. Samandari!. "Ecstatic" does not begin to describe how I feel after seeing these pictures!!!

Lindsay of Lindsay in New Zealand is now a trained youth animator after completing a Ruhi Book 5 intensive course. This course explores the uniqueness of the period of junior youth, or adolescence, and the importance of guiding those in that age group to develop a moral character, in light of the deteriorating morals and standards in the society around us.

Speaking of junior youth, as Baha'i blogger Devin reports, Baha'i junior youth gathered recently at Camp Seymour on Puget Sound, very close to home. My wife and I know the bay in front of the camp well as it is a favorite canoe-launching site for us out into the Sound. Devin, who took the picture to the right and served as a camp counselor, shared stanzas from "The Seymour Song" written by the youth during the session. Here is an excerpt:

Long ago when Baha'u'llah was here
He dreamed of us as youth
He knew one day we'd lead them all
and spread His Teachings and truth
Unity in diversity,
oh but wait there's more
like spending one weekend a year
here at Camp Seymour

Reading the Baha'i Writings has inspired Heather from Beverton OR (pictured on the right) to greater effort on the job, as she relates in her very first blog entry on MySpace. "All effort and exertion put forth by man from the fullness of his heart is worship, if it is prompted by the highest motives and the will to do service to humanity." -Abdu'l-Baha. Since reading this quote in an article published in April, 28 2006 edition The American Baha'i, I have been better able to work at my job and more importantly better able to assist people at my job. Just taking the time to remember this each day is helping me to cope with a difficult atmosphere and making it easier to work at making it better especially when reflecting on the quote on the Baha'i myspace site which reads: "A kindly tongue is the lodestone of the hearts of men. It is the bread of the spirit, it clotheth the words with meaning, it is the fountain of the light of wisdom and understanding...." Ya-Baha'ul-Abha!

Marzi spent Ridvan in Canberra, Austrailia, as she tells us on Marzi's travel blog 2 The most intersting part of the weekend was meeting Mahmood and Parvin's father, who had come to Australia 11 years ago, after being imprisoned in Iran for 5 years for being Baha'i. He was in his mid-sixties at the time he was put in jail and went through harsh treatment from the guards - but never lost the perservence to remain strong. He was wonderfully kind and it was a great honor to meet him.
