On Miley Cyrus Was Not At Our Naw Ruz Celebration Today: But Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah! one Charles and two Liams were
Charles came for what was his first Naw Ruz celebration as a new Baha'i. And wouldn't you know it, he had opportunity to talk football, as there was a former football coach there, Michael, also attending a Tacoma Baha'i holy day for the first time. Talk about being able to feel right at home...
At the celebration at today there were not one, but two Liams: Lisa's Liam and Cornelia's Liam. Talk about cuteness.
Tim and Deb did it again, offered up their home for Naw Ruz, and and this year's was one of the best ever. It was old home week, with people like Robert and Linda, and Elrico and Tosca, and John all in the house, like it was back when we used to meet at Wright Park for Spiritual Meeting (our monthly community devotional, as it was called back then.) El Rico even sang "Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the coming of the Lord." Ahem, ahem, my rendition of our Naw Ruz classic Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah! was one of my best efforts to date, if I do say so myself.
Emi was back from school in Portland. Last year at this time, Isaac was serving at Louhelen, but he was with us today. My son Rahmat rode his bike over from his place to join the festivities, after successfully completing the fast for another year, looking a bit thinner, if that's possible.
There were new friends there, too, Angela newly arrived from Columbia with Michael, her new husband. There was a visiting young Dr. Gottlieb joining us today, in addition to the old (and not so old) regulars of our community.
Another year has begun. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah! Wonderful feeling, wonderful day. -gw
