On Global Community: Seeing a Nine-Pointed Star

Mysterious (to me) converation going on over at
regarding the Fedora project.
Gmane is a mailing list archive;
the vast majority of the lists here
deal with free software. -gw

Morning all.
For purely personal reasons (Baha'i), I like the 9to9 nine pointed star
concept most.
My second choice would be Mola's electric sphere for the old techno-whiz feeling, with Martin's waves running a close third for continuity and infinitely radiating idea. Hope it helps. - Dan

Fedora is a Linux-based operating system that showcases the latest in free and open source software. Fedora is always free for anyone to use, modify, and distribute. It is built by people across the globe who work together as a community: the Fedora Project. The Fedora Project is open and anyone is welcome to join.

The Fedora Project is out front for you, leading the advancement of free, open software and content.

"People across the globe who work together as a community." Sounds like a Baha'i concept to me. -gw

Ubuntu Linux is really about freedom and community. You can reach their website at www.ubuntu.com.

I've always wondered why this group has not been adopted by the Baha'i Community.

There is a short video included in this operating system by Nelson Mandela talking about the varied meanings of the word "ubuntu" from an African perspective.

Thank you for the link, Kevin. Having the freedom to build community in this day is so precious. And there are so many fascinating vehicles to do it with.

btw, there are Ubuntu Linux editions for muslim (http://www.ubuntume.com/) and for christian (http://ubuntuce.com/) - so, an Ubuntu Baha'i edition is very missing, since from long time Bahaullah shares deeply with the Ubuntu (from Zulu vocabulary) ideology.
