On Using Lion King at Devotions: Trickysong Is Busy
The energy that Baha'i youth bring to Baha'i community life can be enormous. I thought of my daughter-in-law and her efforts in preparation for our community's wonderfully successful Birth of Baha'u'llah celebration when I read this post. -gw

Very Busy Baha'i Weekend. Okay so this weekend has been REALLY busy, but wonderful at the same time! Friday was nice because we didn't do anything but sit around and watch the Last Samurai and more of 10th Kingdom. But saturday I had a tutor meeting from 12:15 to 1:30 and than a cluster meeting from 2:00 to 7:00 and then the other dorm had a party from 8:00 to 10:00 and after that Neda and I stayed up till 2:00am to finish these box things that we're giving to the students today as well as put the finishing touches on the Birth of Baha'u'llah celebration we had today! Then this morning I got up at 7:45 had devotions at 8:30 and then Oonagh made breakfast for the dorm at 9:00 and then we went over at 9:30 to set up for our Celebration which was at 11.
So that's the breakdown of this weekend, obviously it was really busy. At first I was stressed about everything because I had to plan devotions this morning as well as work with 4 other people to plan the Celebration, but it was awesome.
This morning at the devotion I had a ton of quotes from different religions about love and everyone said two and at the end I played "He Lives in You" from Lion King 2 which was AWESOME!!! I was smiling the whole time thinking that if they knew it was from that movie they'd probably be laughing at me for using it at the devotionals but they seemed to like it!!! Its a really really good song!
Then the celebration went REALLY well! People really liked it, and I was really proud of us! We played this amazing song at the beginnig called "Messenger" and then did our welcome. Then we played "The First Hidden Word" by Devon Gundry then had prayers in tons of different languages then played a powerpoint about Baha'u'llah's time in the Siyah-Chal and then we read 3 different stories (from the Stories of Baha'u'llah books) about Baha'u'llahs life and childhood etc. Then the children in our community did a presentation they prepared to the song "Teaching Peace" SOOOO cute!!! :) Then we played "Oh Baha'u'llah" and had 3 more stories about things after Baha'u'llah's Revelation, and then had another powerpoint that had the song "In this Day" playing and a ton of happy pictures and all that! Anyways it was REALLY really great! And I'm really happy! This weekend sort of made me realize how important it is to stay focused at least in the sence that the purpose of this life is constantly in the back of your mind rather than not there at all... Anyways, I'm really excited for Changing Times, the conference that's taking place here in December! I can't wait!
