On Impressions of the Baha'i Faith: Knowledgeable and Proud

Hearing about the Baha'i Faith for the first time is scary for some people. Basic assumptions and fundamental cultural stories are often seen as questioned. Here is Lucy's initial take--I love Lucy!--on the Baha'i Faith.

Gooseylucy on XANGA.COM: "[The Baha'is] belive in scriptures but use a twist and they are friendly and they will talk to you and they want you to embrace there belives it was very hard but i know how to pray for them. here is a little of what they belive and i was pretty freaked out by it all. and i had to read some stuff out loud and it was really not easy stuff to read... I know that i want to know wiht out a shadow of a doubt why i belive the way i belive... THey were so incredible knowlegeable and proud to be what they were....A little of what they belive is that man and women are equal, that we should all have a universal language, they do not have vlergy or priest they have each other very family style and group."

Baha'is are enjoined to "live the life." First impressions are often lasting impressions. The impression her debating teammates have of Sarah are very positive.
enirica on LIVE JOURNAL: My debating team at uni worked out really well. It's me, Matt, and Sarah, and I think we've landed on a group that works pretty good together. Sarah is 35, mother of 3, PhD in something related to cardiology, American, and Baha'i. I could totally be Baha'i. Anyway, she's very easy to get along with, she always seems to be checking and rechecking that everyone is happy, she works hard, and she's open about her thoughts and brings up things as they concern her. It's nice that she's so clear about her intentions and motives; no game playing, wonderful.
