On Food Served Up for the Belly and the Soul: Baha'i Views / Flitzy Phoebie on Flickr breaks 1000 visits in one day mark
Bonita and I share an account on Flickr, Baha'i Views / Flitzy Phoebie. Although Bonita was the only one with a camera for years, I got a hand-me-down from one of my sons and started taking pictures before going on Pilgrimage in April of this year. Whereas before Bonita was the one to capture everything we did, the canoeing and camping, the family get-togethers, the Baha'i activities, I took over those duties and she began to focus on what I understand is called food styling. One of Bonita's shots was chosen by WomensDay.com for use on their site. Our Flickr site now is an odd combination of her close-ups of some really good-looking meals and treats that she has prepared and my shots of Baha'i activities the two of us have partaken of, with the occasional recreational trip and family gathering thrown infor good measure.
Flickr is a photo sharing site, of course, and it's fun to track the number of visitors. Yesterday there were exactly 1004 visits to our site in the 24 hours from 4 pm Satuday (midnight Greenwhich Mean Time) to 4 pm today. That's never happened before. People sure have a hunger for pictures of food, and maybe the spiritual food, too, that Baha'is strive to serve up, fresh and healthy. -gw
