Here is the ad. Here is a quiz:

(a) The content of this ad is not objectionable.

At best, it's free publicity for the Faith. At worst, honestly George, who cares?

Eep. I just find it silly mostly, my understandings of certain Baha'i principles don't really mesh well with online dating. And the greatest name thing is not okay I think. And the millions bit has me laughing still.

I understand objecting to the use of the Greatest Name. Clearly, that is disrespectful. I do not oject to online dating for Bahá'ís, however. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE for single Bahá'ís to find other single Bahá'ís. Sure, if you happen to be gorgeous, Persian and rich, it is easy, but what about us homely folks of non-Persian background with little money? God help us.

This multiple choice quiz seems a bit slanted with 3 out of 4 chances to object.
I think it is wonderful that the needs of the Baha'i singles community is even being addressed. This ad is supporting a basic tenet of our faith- unity.
Why not contact them and suggest they improve their service by appealing to the Baha'i singles community through a more appropriate logo such as the nine pointed star?
I commend them on the photograph, I think it is beautifully done...gee, are there really millions inside?
I sure hope so, as an isolated believer, I'm 'bout decided to just give up and head for sainthood. Are they all declared or is this to the entry by troops?

I dont think the greatest name should have been shown in this context. On the other hand, I think the internet could help in finding marriage partners or at least contacts that could grow into serious relationships. Since the Baha'i Faith is the second most widespread religion it can be tough meeting Baha'i's, especially when you're young and from an atheist family like me.

Ah, just shows how viewpoints are subjective.

To the best of my knowledge, Bahaullah has only expressed positive views of relationships between a man and woman. Using the term Bahai is no slanderous or offensive term when used in a respectful context.

Thus, I have no problem with any aspect of the ad except for possibly the word DATING.

In todays society where the word dating is analogous to fast sex and temporary partnership, I find that the term dating carries a negative impression. Also, the prevalence of 'dating sites' abound with all sorts of questionable intent.

Replace it with 'investigations into a committed relationship' and I think you have it.

Sorry - in case you havent picked up on it - I am being just a little facetious.
