We are waiting here at the Nof Hotel until someone from the BWC comes to tell us what do. We are here with other Bahá’ís from all over the world -- Australia, Tanzania, Italy, Canada. This morning we woke up at 6 a.m. to the sound of sirens and went into the basement for about an hour. Apparently, some rockets came in from the North and hit the water outside of Akka,. We heard there were a lot more rockets up north.
With the typical Israeli resilience, everyone has just done what they had to do and are now going about their business. It makes me smile to remember this. Amazingly, I feel right at home here.
Last night they lit up the Shrine of the Báb and we could see it from the patio. We hope that we get closer than the patio. But just seeing it there was comforting. We could also see the lights on at the top windows of the Seat where the Research Department used to be in the 1980's when we were here. It was comforting to know that the dear Friends are in there working.
Being at the top of the mountain, this is a good place to broadcast, so there are some TV crews here. No CNN or anything, but we saw people reporting in Hebrew and in Russian.
We know there are many reasons for us to be here right now -- personal and otherwise. I am hoping that one of the reasons for our visit is to bring some sort of comfort to you who, like us, would be yearning to be here.
Please be assured that when/if we get to the Shrines we will pray for each one of you. Our love and prayers go out to all of you. Renate, Scott, & Shea
