Monday, May 15, 2006 - Well It's official i'm going to Bangalore, India for a year of study. This is exciting for many reasons as I am going to be completely submerged in India culture, both living it and learning it. But first, however, as I wrap up the school year here in Overland Park, Kansas, I'm going to be moving my earthly possessions to my parents house in Nebraska, heading to my cousin's wedding in omaha, and then my younger sister and I are off to give a summer of service for the Baha'i faith at Green Acre Baha'i School in Eliot, Maine. -- King of Vegetable, KOV Goes to India

thanks for comment..
and wow, i was quite shocked seeing some of my flickr photos and my "rantings"(!?) as a separate post in your blog...!
well, you are right, it's a very careful observation of yours that i look at faith and religion from the human-centered perspective.
actually i find it a little subconscious that i look at religions' emergence from this point of view. in fact, i find human, with all postive and negative qualities, all of them, the center of the universe; but only when he/she knows who he/she is. it might sound a bit confusing, but we are all one... and this one is not but within us, in us.
maybe what people see and wish to see in an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent entity called God or Allah or Buddha, or... Khoda is not but human him/herself. i'm pretty sure there are some people(philosophers/idealogists...) who beleive this way...
and i guess this is also very close to Buddhism ...
and power-seeking is one of qualities we carry... i personally beleive we carry all negative behaviors and abilities as well as positive qualities that can potentially exist and can be seen in our lives throughout our history (since we got civilized) and within the capacity we have. this does not mean we can't be the cause of some new qualities or behaviors to emerge or be born, since things change with time, technology and science improve, new demands arise...
but probably due to the demands of an era, or the trends of a period of time, some of these get intensified and some others get less significant... and can be affected by different aspects of life
but power-seeking is one of those important qualities that human "seems" not to be able to live without.
but what is religion? or true religion? what is it that has a civilizing influence(as you have mentioned and i agree on)?
thanks for the links and your post on this matter in your blog... i will try to have a peek at them... altho i enjoy more thinking and observing than just reading :-\
but i will, to see if i find some of the answers...
although, sometimes i feel there are questions with no answers, and this will make life challenging enough, otherwise life would be comepletely boring and absurd!(BTW, isn't life absurd?!)
