On Baha'i Blogs: New Blogs and Blogs in Suspended Animation

Baha'i Views is a new blog, all of three month's old. So is Sanisha's blog, log @ this ...look at this. There are new Baha'i blogs coming online at an exponential rate, a veritable explosion. Some blogs burst out of the gate and are running round the track at a steady pace. Or after an auspicious start, blog posts come in fits and starts. Some blogs simply stop. Baha'i bloggers await anxiously a new post from Miss B at The adventures of a Youth Desk intern, whose last post was dated February 18th, for example. In any case, Technorati will tell you, if you want to know, how long it has been since a blog posted. You know what? There are some treasures among those blogs in "suspended animation."

Beauty in Nature is a case in point. "Here you will find interesting images of all sorts, exploring the beauty and variety of our natural surroundings." It has been 17 days since a photo was posted on this blog of exceptionally beautiful personal photography. The blogger, "V", has another blog Anxiously Concerned devoted to "Examining the application of the teachings of the Baha'i Faith to world events," with seven entries since its start January 18th, the last entry on February 22nd. In her careful reading of the Harvard Business Review, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic Monthly, the Wilson Quarterly, this blogger has found gems galore since she posted her first entry in which she stated "The Theme" of her blog via a quote from Baha'u'llah: “Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in, and center your deliberations on its exigencies and requirements.” In her Wilson Quarterly entry she shared the following excerpt--but click over and read her whole post.

As we begin the 21st century, the secularism whose triumph once seemed as inevitable as the arrival of spring now seems a fading flower, while religion, in both traditional and novel forms, is in renewed bloom, and even making a play for full-scale reentry into public life.

Musings is a new blog eight days old. Carl posted a great post on "The Mystery of Sleep" incorporating the Writings.

The earth is one country and humankind its citizens is the blog entry of Laina. First post was last Friday. She is off and running.

Conclusion: Blog a little, blog a lot. It doesn't matter. Your post will be read by somebody, somewhere, sooner or later. Considering a blog? Take plunge. The water is fine.
