On a Sin-Covering Eye: Finding that lovely detail about the other person
To be silent concerning the faults of others, to pray for them, and to help them, through kindness, to correct their faults. To look always at the good and not at the bad. If a man has ten good qualities and one bad one, to look at the ten and forget the one; and if a man has ten bad qualities and one good one, to look at the one and forget the ten.
So many of my photos are blurry. Bonita hates that. But my salvation is in cropping. You can take a lousy picture, but there is almost always a corner, a detail, that is interesting, or even lovely.
It occurs to me that this is the way Baha'i are supposed to look at others. Find the detail, the lovely corner, and notice that.
Here is a photo set from the Feast of Sultan. There were a lot of radiant souls there, but my photos were terrible. Cropping saved the day. -gw
