We have had floods in this area recently. I was personally affected ... for an afternoon ... when I couldn't get back to my office, or even home, when the roads were temporarily flooded. I have read the paper and watched the evening news and noted the many stories of flood victims whose lives were disrupted in a much more devasting way than I was, people whose possessions were all but ruined.
